This is an issued recoil reduction mount for the MG 42 pattern belt fed machine guns.
This mount is designed to work with a US / NATO tripod and Traverse & Elevation (T&E) mechanism as a stationary weapons platform, allowing accurate fire.
These mounts feature knurled handlebar style grips to ensure comfortable control of the weapon system.
The firearm mounts in such a way on the recoil reducing mount that a thumb actuated push bar mechanism can be used to fire the gun.
The mount will have little wear, and may have light rust in some spots that will be easily cleaned.
All the mount components are rugged steel and are ready to use.
Features a USGI type pintle and will fit sockets designed to accept M2 pintles.
The T&E and tripod are the same as used with the M1919A4 Browning.
These are marked DISA for the Danish company Dansk Industri Syndikat (Danish Industry Syndicate) that manufactured the mount.
