6 for 6 function after a little tinkeringWhen I opened the box, I was surprised to see how most of them looked pretty good -- barely any rust anywhere; I think I got lucky because I've seen other reviews which say theirs came with rust. 2 hours of tinkering, cleaning and bending and they all work. They all arrived with sticky or completely stuck followers. Brake clean, wrenches, clp, and prybars got them all working in about an hour. I'm not a mag guru, but I think they are all either Romanian or Polish. Some have a little character which I like-- 3 look VG/EX. $10 a mag seems like a good deal.

Fair shake dealI saw all variable Romanians, poor finish, no rust or pitting. small dents jamming the follower, A follower that jammed at the magazine base appeared to be a small dent, but would jam after pulling the dent. Checked and changed the angle of the followers front tab/lip to a more downward angle. Functional war torn battle pickups with a few minutes of know how. Great idea if you know what you like (functional surplus battle pick up grade, at a fair price).

Good deal, great afternoon projectGot two, both romanian with good clear stamps
Both came ever so slightly rusty and sandy/muddy just enough to stop the follower but nothing carb cleaner, a brass brush and some oil cant fix
They also both had some internal dings that a wrench / screwdriver combo couldn't get out I had to modify the followers to get them to clear the dings
At the end of the day I have two well working romanian mags with awesome characterPosted on

They work without any problems.Well, I bought 2 of these expecting to have to do some kind of work. Nope, both function just fine, a bit stiff, but they work. One of the followers gets stuck at the very bottom, but thats it.
As for the mags I got, both were Romanian. One is blued and the other is parkerized. Both look pretty decent. Although I am a little disappointed, I was hoping for mags from other eastern European counties. Beggars cant be choosers!Posted on

Good buy.I bought 4 of them. One was great condition, almost new. Maybe a grade-A or B. Two were bit rough, but loaded up fine after a decent touch of CLP to get them old gears turning. The last one was pretty tough, is was dented near the bottom and the spring and part that pushes the rounds up were stuck, compressed in the magazine. After I tool a bayonet and pushed it out through the bottom, the problem was east to fix. Took a Gerber tool, and got the dent out. She's working now.
Note: I haven't fired out of any of these YET. But they seem to seat rounds perfectly well. They aren't the most pretty, and sound like an old spring mattress, but like the AK rifle itself, they function.
P.S. Hope you like Cosmoline.Posted on

Good to Very Good ConditionOne of the 3 I ordered had some surface rust, and another a small dent. All functioned 100%. The finish was in good to good condition. Received 1 blued Romanian, 1 parkerized Romanian and 1 Hungarian. Well worth it.

Gambled and wonDecided to finally take the gamble on 6 of these to round out an order. One was good to go out of the box with a rust spot maybe the size of a thumb print other than that pristine condition. One was in near perfect condition with a stuck follower due to dirt and packing grease, cleaned it up in 5 minutes and it was good to go.
One had minor dents that were poped out in a few minutes. One is going to need extensive rust removal Inside and a few dents popped out but I’m confident is salvageable. One Looks like the baseplate was used as a hammer and although it can’t be straightened or removed does function fine as a 28 round mag. The final has crushed in feed lips to the extent that it won’t be salvageable but I did get Some good parts off of it and a neat bottle opener. Over all I think it came out and will probably gamble on a few more.Posted on

PerfectOrdered 10, repaired 10. Used channel locks and a cheap pry bar from harbor freight to twist. 5-6 were fixed in less than 5 minutes, a couple had to be worked on for 20 min or more. Only one had pitting on feed lips, none issue to lock up in gun. Ordered 10 more. Most appear to be Romanian.
