US issue periscope M29 / M31 head assembly with M31 periscope Body Assembly installed, in *Very Good* condition.

Usually, this type of head unit and body assembly is used for the tank gunner's direct fire sight.
The (installed) Periscope, Tank, M31 is primarily intended for use as the gunner's periscope of the primary fire control systems for the 105mm Gun Tanks: M60 and M60A1 and the 90mm Gun Tank: M48A3.
The periscope has an eight power optical system with reticle for laying the main armament on target and a wide range unity power system for observation purposes.
This M31 body assembly is functional, the lenses are clear and the knobs for zeroing the reticle work, may require recharging with nitrogen.
In *Very Good* condition, this head and body unit has never been installed, but due to long term storage, the parts show signs of wear, marring, scratching, dust, etc..
