got a 74 parts kit that came with the painted on plum furniture so this was a great upgrade that kept the rifle more or less in original configuration. The set I received was in basically NOS condition with only a few small dings on the lower handguard. They do come discolored as shown in the photo but a little sanding, stain and oil and they clean up really nice. Would recommend

The buttstock finish was pretty worn out but the upper and lower handguards were in excellent condition.

I bough these to put on a Romy kit AKM. They fit with minimal fitting and I'm very happy with them. The lacquer finish was in pretty rough shape and they were dirty with plenty of dings and nicks. I stripped the old finish and grime off and then stained the blonde stock a walnut color to better match the front handguards. The stock is beech so I reccomend water based stain, while the lower handguard is ash and the upper handguard is laminated wood. My rifle is a BFPU so I like the character of the dings and obvious service use this stock set has. The missing sling attachment is somewhat inconvenient, but I was able to buy one here on Apex for 5 bucks. Be sure to get one for an ak74 stock though, as regular akm sling swivels are not the same length and the screw holes don't line up. I cannibalized some screws from an old stock to complete this set and was all ready to go. Price isn't what I would call great, but with surplus drying up it is what it is. Get them while you can.

Bought this set to for a PSAK-47 I purchased for my son. Took a chance that it would fit and with just a little sanding on the lower handguard l, fits like a glove. The hand guards are near perfection finish with no dings, chips, or cracks. The stock is lighter than the handguards but we are going to refinish the set in Russian red finished with some BLO. Very nice set for the money and shipping was great, received in 2 days. Don’t hesitate on this set!

Buttstock I would rate as darn near unissued, the handguard thought was lower end of what I would call good, defiantly usable but in a bit rougher shape than I expected. Over all good deal and great for a BFPU type build.

Just like the pix. Fit a WASR I0 with no problem.
