I got the last set. Arrived with some cosmo, mostly around the butt plate. The original finish was cracking and flaking off. Took some work to get the gunk and old finish off, but once off things looked pretty good. I did have a crack in the front of the lower hand guard, but it's not too bad.
Stripped the finish, gave a light sanding with 100 and 220. One coat of Cognac stain, then resanded to lessen the stain. Finished with a few passes of Danish Oil. The end result is exactly what I wanted, it looks like an old, well-used stock.

Much more than I expected. The shellac had lifted, but after stripping revealed nice unblemished laminated wood. I have no doubt it will refinish nicely.

The set I received was matching in color and wear, which is typical BFPU. No cracks or gouges. I asked for a non-g buttstock and they honored my request. It only took 2 business days to reach me in Nebraska with the lowest cost shipping option. Thanks Apex on another great purchase!

Awesome classic looking parts, quick tip if your parts come sticky, just cover in WD-40 and scrub with a towel, feels like new now

The Romanian AK was nicer than I expected. Beautiful grains in the wood. Plan on a light sand and stain. Will look amazing once completed. Order was processed quick and packaged with pride. Highly recommend APEX.

This Romanian stock set has dings, dents, scratches and looks like it has seen military service, and that is exactly what I wanted. This stock set was a gift and I could not be happier with this. It looks great on my Romanian WASR 10. We ordered on a Thursday and I was opening the stock kit on the following Monday afternoon. Apex is awesome and you've earned a lifelong customer!

Ordered up one of these. Finish is decent, has some wear on it and is flaking but over all I think its worth the buy.

Whats better than a genuine Romanian Civil Guard stock set for a Romanian WASR 10 rifle? NOTHING! The stock set is good quality com-block plywood. It had some cosmo on it, but not much. The shellac finish is starting to flake off but that's the look I wanted as I'm going for a battlefield pickup aesthetic on this gun. I will also say that the dong aids in stability when handling the rifle. Top notch product at an awesome price. I might have to get a couple more just to have on hand.

The protective layer was flaking off but overall the wood was in excellent condition. After refinishing these they look great, plus working trap door! Just ordered another set.

They are so good for re-finishing I had to purchase two more because when they are gone they're gone.
