wood fit a little too snug, no chance of falling of. the butt plate and flap was a bit rusty but easy to replace. good purchase overall.

Buyers remorse setting in hard. The stock and dong were in decent shape, needed light cleaning as others have said. The Bakelite grip was ok, kinda roughed up and no hardware. The upper handguard was complete trash and I can’t believe they shipped it. Nothing really matches color wise but the upper was way off and had a different type of finish, which was almost completely worn off. The wood was so old and weak that it just fell apart in my hand when I tried to twist it on the gas tube. The very good rating was inaccurate for everything but the upper is actual garbage that should not have been sold. Lesson learned about furniture from apex.

Buy the lower rated set and save some money and disappointment. The stock is "very good", "the upper handguard is "very good", the DONG is garbage, "fair" at best. Most likely grabbed out of a giant box of random crap. That's why they sell four at a time so cheaply. The finishes are a mile apart, the stock is a rich brown and the dong is that ugly yellow/green with red streaks that is impossible to finish uniformly. Will look elsewhere for a descent dong! Ha, Until then the Sar 1 remains incomplete. Apex has served me very well in the past, and I appreciate their hard work, will remain using them to source parts for all my rifles.

THis is very nice ROMANIAN AKM FURNITURE looks very nice on my akm. 5/5 would reccomend to a friend. Serial number on the lower handguard was a surprise but to me it adds character thank you for this i will appreciate it until i die you guys are best friends of mine thanks again thanks..

**** This is a four star purchase. If the foreward donkey dong (vertical grip) wasn't serialized, this would have been a 5 star purchase. The serialization was an unanticipated surprise since this stock set is going on a match serialized set build. Other than a light cleaning to remove the cosmoline remnants, the stock set and hardware was in very good condition. No I wouldn't have purchased this set if I knew it was serialized. :-)
