Early type with non-numbered rear sight knob and no directional markings on receiver.
Early cast front sight base with circle post and "L" rear sight.
Pencil profile barrel is marked with "VP" marking at the front sight base.
Colt proof marks on the front right side of the receiver.
A1 triangle handguards with straight barrel nut assembly.
Early triangle charging handle with gray finish.
Original upper receiver has been refinished / painted black.
Early Colt chrome slickside bolt carrier with fat head firing pin.
The ejection port cover has a square tapered detent plate.

A1 birdcage type flash hider.
Moderate pitting in the non-chrome lined bore.
Cage code markings on the left side at the receiver and front sight base.
Lower assembly, FCG parts and buttstock are NOT included.

This Upper Assembly includes:
- Early M16 triangle type handguard cap with circle handguards, and straight barrel nut assembly.
- Cast front sight base and circle sight post.
- L shape rear sight with windage adjustment. 
- M16 style carry handle upper, with large square plate ejection port cover.
- 20" barrel with A1 birdcage type flash hider.
- Early bend gas tube.
