Great project / display stock for your rifle! Includes the stock and most metal parts. Made of wood, approximately 37 inches long. This stock was originally for K98AZ Mauser rifles and has had its length modified. Shows signs of chips, gouges, wear, marring, grime, etc...
Just as the Germans were modifying their K98A rifle stocks to K98k rifle length the Polish also began modifying their K98AZ rifle stocks to WZ29 rifle length. This was because the original German K98A & Polish K98AZ rifles would not fit the standard earlier Gewher 98 bayonets correctly, due to the length of the bayonet lug to the muzzle. This caused bayonets to hang off of the rifle, only connected by the bayo lug with no muzzle or bayonet handguard connection. As a result the bayonet handguards were constantly blown off when firing. So some time druring earlier K98k / WZ29 production, they modified the earlier K98A / K98AZ stocks to the shorter length so that the bayonets would work properly.
