Iron Talwar pattern short sword used for many decades mainly on the Indian continent.
The word talwar originated from the Sanskrit word taravāri (Sanskrit: तरवारि) which means “one-edged sword”.
The Talwar has a distinctive, all-metal, Indo-Muslim hilt, developed in Medieval western India.
What we are offering for sale is an antique hand made Talwar battle short sword (as pictured).
The short sword will have varying styles and blade lengths, no 2 are identical and will have rust, pitting and wear.
Expect these swords to have bends, dents, be rusty and even have broken / missing pieces with repairs made along the blade or handle.
Handles may have bent or partly missing guards, and/or bent / broken blade tips.
These do exhibit a LOT of history and have seen a lot of use.
