Original US Navy 3 inch Gun Drill Round, Set of 4 in wood Transit Crate, Brass Plated Steel, in *Good* condition.
Sold as a Set. Includes a set of four drill rounds inside its original transit crate (as pictured). These are drill rounds and DO NOT have primers or any explosives installed. Three inches in diameter, these projectile's are used in drill training for the US Navy. Made of brass plated steel, these are 35 inches long and weigh approximately 24.5 pounds each. These will have holes drilled into the cartridge and projectile. Transit crate is made of wood with a metal cover/lid. Each projectile is packed along with a wooden block to help protect the tip. Expect wood to have cracks, gouges and/or repairs. May show additional signs of wear, marring, grime, etc...

The WW2 US Navy 3″/50 caliber gun fired a projectile 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter, with a barrel that was 50 calibers long (barrel length is 3 in × 50 = 150 in or 3.8 m). Different guns (identified by Mark numbers) of this caliber were used by the U.S. Navy throughout WW2.
