The M/61 rifles were used extensively in Africa fighting Portugals Colonian wars about 60 years ago.
All kits are complete, minus the barrel (available separately), receiver and bipod.
These do not include the bipod.
The handguards included are made of green polymer.
The M/61 is the first roller locked battle rifle issued by Portugal.
Later they issued the G-3 that we are familiar with today (designated M/63 by Portugal).
The M/61 was produced by H&K in Germany, and features early parts such as the metal handguard with folding attached bipod, wood stock, early 1st type flash hider, and flip type rear sight, showing the lineage of the early CETME.
Cocking tube will have dings, dents and may require some adjustment to be fully functional.
Wood stock will have scratches, chips, dents or scrapes, and other wear from military service, some have a crack.
Like everything with building a H&K rifle kit, skill with sheet metal and the ability to weld is required.
May show additional signs of surface rust, wear, marring, grime, etc...

The Differences in the M/61 and the standard G3 include:
- Front sight contour is different from the G3 (Flatter Top), it is also windage adjustable.
- Early style rear sight as well (flip style) instead of the rotating drum on the G3.
- Early M/61 flash hider has been replaced somewhere in its service life for the standard G3 flash hider.
- Grip Housings are different from the G3 as well. These Grip housings have a slightly different contour.
